Awards & Acknowledgements 2012

• In November, the Banker magazine rated Mercantil Servicios Financieros as the first Venezuelan institution in its ranking of the Top 1000 World Banks. Mercantil Servicios Financieros came in at 323 in the overall ranking.
  
  
• In October, VenamCham presented the Top 100 Companies where Mercantil Servicios Financieros ranks fourth and is the second in the financial sector on a list of the most successful domestic and foreign companies in Venezuela.
  
  
• In June, the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) recognized Colección Mercantil with its AICA 2011 Award for institutional work. Mercantil's art collection comprises 2000 works representing outstanding examples of Venezuelan art throughout the times, exhibited in line with a rigorous museographic concept. With this award AICA's acknowledges the creators, personalities and institutions who have recognized the wealth of creativity that Venezuela has to offer in this day and age.
  
  
• In June, Mercantil Banco Universal head the Gerente 2012 Brands ranking in the banking sectors. The Brands ranking is obtained through an online consumer behavior study from surveys of executives from 600 Venezuelan companies.
  
  
• In June, Mercantil Seguros also head the Gerente 2012 Brands ranking in the insurance sectors.
  
  
• In April, Forbes magazine once again rated Mercantil Servicios Financieros among the world’s biggest 2000 public companies.The magazine uses sales, profits, assets and market value to rank companies according to size. Mercantil Servicios Financieros is ranked at 1,393 and it is the only Venezuelan company on the list, climbing 33 positions since the previous year.2011
  
  
• In February, Global Finance magazine awarded Mercantil Banco Universal its ”Best Consumer Trade Finance Bank in Venezuela 2012” prize. This award recognizes the financial institutions with the highest volume of transactions, range of global coverage, quality of customer services, competitiveness and technological innovation in the world.
  
  
• In February, Mercantil Seguros came 13th in the 2011 ranking by the Great Place To Work (GPTW) Institute in Venezuela, as one of the best firms to work for in Venezuela.

• In December, The Banker magazine acknowledged  Mercantil Banco Universal with its Bank of the Year Award 2011 for Venezuela based on the evaluation of its principal management indicators compared to its performance in 2010. The Banker highlighted Mercantil Banco Universal's positive performance amid a dynamic economic climate, a noteworthy achievement that shows that the results reflect prudent and sound management, in particular as regards the Bank's asset and equity growth. >
  
  
• In November, Mercantil Commercebank, leads the Banking and Finance Awards ranking by the South Florida Business Journal in the area of loan portfolio growth.  From June 2010 to June 2011 the bank registered US$ 246 million loan portfolio growth, closing the period at US$ 3.87 billion. Most of this growth was driven by commercial non-real estate loans and commercial real estate.
  
  
• In October, the maintenance and renewal audit of Mercantil Banco Universal concluded with zero non-conformities. Fondonorma's audit team ascertained that nine ISO 9001:2008 certified lines of service comply with the standard's requirements. The audit was carried out on five lines: Mercantil Call Center customer service, Cashier desks, ATM network, Corporate client securities and Social benefit trust fund, and renewal audits on 4 lines: Mercantil Online, Credit cards, Home delivery of checkbooks and Préstame instant loans.

• In June, Global Finance magazine, selected Mercantil Banco Universal as the "Best Trade Supplier of Venezuela". Additional, it located in the position 192 in the ranking of the 200 biggest banks on emergent markets
  
  
• In May, according to the ranking by Alexa, the company that evaluates the number of website hits worldwide, Mercantil Banco Universal's is sixteenth in the ranking of Venezuela's websites and number one in the ranking for the Venezuelan financial sector.
  
  
• In April 2011, Mercantil Servicios Financieros is still on the list of the leading 2000 companies in the world published by the prestigious Forbes magazine, based on its evaluation that takes into account income, profitability, asset growth and market capitalization. In 2011 Mercantil Servicios Financieros ranked at number 1,426 on the list.
  
  
• In March, according to the sixth survey conducted by the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute Venezuela, Mercantil Banco Universal ranked among the 15 Best Companies to Work for in Venezuela. Mercantil Banco Universal is the only financial institution to receive this recognition for the sixth year running and comes 13th in the ranking.
  
  
• In March, according to the sixth survey conducted by the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute Venezuela, Mercantil Seguros ranked among the 15 Best Companies to Work for in Venezuela. Mercantil Seguros achieved this distinction for the fourth time and is the only one in the insurance sector, ranking 12th.
  

Awards & Acknowledgements 2010

• In November, Latin Finance magazine awarded Mercantil Banco Universal its prize for Best Bank in Venezuela in 2010. The above-mentioned edition of the magazine stressed the fact that Mercantil Banco Universal’s loan portfolio has registered 36.6% interannual growth in a year of special circumstances for the Venezuelan government. It also pointed out that Mercantil is striving hard to make its services available to the broader population through Mercantil Aliado which is part of the Majorities Banking segment. According to Latin Finance Mercantil Banco Universal is the first bank to incorporate chip technology in its ATMs and credit and debit cards.
  
  
• In October, the maintenance and renewal audit for Mercantil Banco Universal’s ISO 9001:2008 certifications conducted by the Venezuelan Standardization and Quality Certification Institute, Fondonorma, concluded with zero non-conformities, certifying Mercantil’s 100% compliance with the standards. Of the 9 lines evaluated, the Call Center (CAM) certification was renewed and maintenance was conducted on the other 8 lines: Teller Line; Online Banking, ATM Network, Corporate Client Securities, Credit Card application, printing and distribution, Home Delivery of Check Books, Préstame (Instant Loan) and the Management and Employee Benefit Trust Funds.
  
  
• In July, a survey conducted by The Banker magazine ranked Mercantil Servicios Financieros Venezuela’s leading financial institution on its list of the Top 1000 World Banks. Mercantil Servicios Financieros ranked number 291 in the survey, and the tenth leading financial services company in Latin America.
  
  
• In April, Forbes magazine once again rated Mercantil Servicios Financieros one of the world’s Top 2000 companies. This time at number 1,297. It was the only Venezuelan company in the financial sector on the list, climbing 36 positions since 2009.
  
  
• In April, the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute’s fifth survey rated Mercantil Banco Universal among the 15 best companies to work for in Venezuela and at number 10 on the ranking. It is the only financial institution to have won this recognition for the fifth successive year.
  
  
• In April, the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute’s fifth survey rated Mercantil Seguros as one of the 15 best companies to work for in Venezuela. It is the third time it has achieved this distinction and, at number nine, the only insurance company on the list.
  
  
• In March, for the second year running Mercantil Commercebank received the Top 100 Minority Business Award® from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC). In 2010 the bank was recognized in the Community Involvement category.
